Every room below is from the airport's own page (Narita and Haneda rechecked 22 Oct 2026; others 28 Sept – 2 Oct 2026), and each one links to its source. If an airport does not say whether a room is before or after security, I say so instead of guessing.

Short answer. Narita has a prayer room before and after security in all three terminals (T1, T2, T3). Haneda T3 has two rooms before security only; Haneda T2 International has rooms on both sides; Haneda T1 has no prayer room (official page). KIX T1 has separate rooms for men and women with ablution space, open 24 hours, on 3F and after security in the international gate area. In the city, Tokyo Station has a prayer room at the Marunouchi North exit, 10:00–17:00 (confirmed 15 Oct 2026; see section 3).

4 traps for Muslim families

  1. Haneda T1 has no prayer room at all (official page). It is the domestic terminal you may use for flights inside Japan (for example to Sapporo or Fukuoka) — pray before you head to the airport.
  2. Haneda T3: rooms before security only (3F, 2 rooms). No room is listed after security. If prayer time is close to boarding, pray first, then go through security.
  3. After landing at Narita, there is no room "before customs". Narita's page has a "Before Customs" category, but none of its 6 prayer rooms is in it. Clear immigration and customs first; the nearest public-side rooms are T1 3F, T2 1F and T3 2F.
  4. Narita does not state wudu facilities or opening hours. The page gives locations only. Haneda says its rooms have purification facilities; KIX has ablution space and is open 24 hours. At Narita, don't assume there is a wudu area inside the room.
